Business advisory and accounting firm, RSM Bird Cameron, claims it will take just 12 months recover an investment in IBM Lotus QuickPlace to establish a nationwide, mobile, paperless office. The solution has been deployed across Australia and will be used by 700 staff through deployment on existing IBM infrastructure.
The firm had a range of different filing arrangements for clients, and a combination of Lotus Notes applications, other file servers and hard copy made integration and access of important documentation a time intensive activity. The new system has been deployed to remove the need for duplication of client files in multiple locations.
Perth-based IBM solutions provider Resource Systems developed and implemented a solution based on IBM Lotus QuickPlace that allows information to be accessed at a single location via the internet from a mobile computer or phone such as the Blackberry devices already in use.
'Clients saw an immediate improvement in the quality and business value of our documentation. We are able to improve delivery times and now have more transparent and collaborative customer relationships,' said John Heggie, executive director at RSM Bird Cameron.
'We will realise a positive return on the project investment within 12 months and management couldn't be happier with the results,' said Heggie. 'We have better informed accountants providing a higher level of customer service, which is our overall aim.'
Think again. Most businesses only have PART of a DR plan - and this spells business disaster in the event of an IT disaster.
