Australian-based ERP software provider, Mincom, has signed a deal with JSC SeverStal Resource to provide an integrated computer aided geological modelling and data management, survey and mine planning system to the resource division of one of Russia's largest holding companies, The SeverStal Group.
The system is based on the Mincom MineScape mine planning and modelling solution and is aimed at increasing the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of reserve calculation. In addition, it is designed to help JSC SeverStal Resource to decrease loss and dilution of mineral products, provide the organisation a unified view of its graphical mining data, and improve mining safety and planning optimisation overall.
Mr Namic Zairi, Head of Geology and Ecology Department of JSC SeverStal Resource, said, "We evaluated a number of other geological solutions providers in the coal area but chose Mincom because Mincom MineScape provides greater flexibility and integration between its modules."
Richard Mathews, CEO of Mincom, said, "Mincom has been doing business in Russia for several years and we are pleased to continue to expand our footprint there and provide localised Mincom products for the Russian market. To reflect our focus and growth in the Russian mining market, we opened a new office in Norilsk in November 2005. We now have offices in Russia in Moscow, St Petersburg and Norilsk which is a great testimony to our successful expansion in the region."
