Two New South Wales schools are to replace 225 notebooks for all teaching and administrative staff with HP notebook PCs.

Hewlett-Packard vice president and general manager, HP Personal Systems Group, South Pacific, Janice Cox, said that the The King’s School, Parramatta, and Tudor House Preparatory School, Moss Vale, have chosen the HP EliteBook 6930p Notebook PC as their replacement notebook, to be employed immediately.

Cox said the schools would also deploy 150 HP docking stations for classroom and office areas.
 
A total of 225 notebook PCs will be deployed immediately, with 200 at The King’s School and 25 at Tudor House School.

The director ICT at The King’s School and Tudor House School, Michael Eggenhuizen, said the two schools were looking to replace their staffs’ ageing notebook PC fleet, and that with over 200 teaching staff at both locations, a notebook PC that was “easy to use and could handle the wear and tear of a busy school environment was essential.”

The HP Docking Stations being installed in our schools were the most robust option; providing power, port replication and cable management in a space saving design.”

HP’s Janice Cox said the EliteBook 6930p has a starting weight of only 2.2kg and a 14.1” widescreen display, enabling on-the-move productivity ideal for school environments. “It also meets the military standard MIL-STD 810F for vibration, dust, humidity, altitude and high temperatures. The HP EliteBook 6930p comes with the HP DuraCase design inspired by aircraft construction. The display enclosure utilises a honey-comb patterned magnesium shell that is thermally bonded to aluminium for supreme durability.”
