SBC Communications has closed its acquisition of AT&T, 14 months after the deal was announced and has started a "well-planned integration" of the two companies.
The combined company will trade under the AT&T name with a new corporate logo to be unveiled Monday 21 November and will have a new ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange from 1 December.
The completion of the merger is the culmination of a review by or filings with 36 US states and the District of Columbia, the US Department of Justice and Federal Communications Commission, as well as regulator authorities in 14 countries.
