Australian IP telephony solutions provider, NSC Group, held an event in Canberra this week to formally introduce telecoms products from Chinese manufacturer Huawei Technologies to the Canberra marketplace.
NSC was one of the first channel partners appointed by Huawei's master distributor in Australia, Downer Engineering's Communications Technology Group, when it opened for business in July.
According to NSC, "Huawei offers an extensive range of telecommunications data networking products that include routers, switches, network management, security & VPN, gateways and servers ranging from the network core to the network edge and access layers, and are suitable for carriers, service providers, business and government customers."
Huawei currently ranks second worldwide in sales of DSL equipment and grown rapidly with total sales in 2004 reaching $US5.58 billion of which $US2.28 billion was from international sales, an increase of 117 percent on the previous year. 45 percent of its 24,000 employees are claimed to be engaged in R&D.
