Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
The Accor Hotels hospitality group has selected business IT services company, Brennan, to supply it with IT support services in Australia under a $2 million outsourcing contract.
Accor has announced Brennan as its preferred IT
support and project services partner to service the company’s network
of 50 hotels.
General Manager IT Services at Accor, Paul Smith, says Brennan was
selected after a competitive tender process to supply the accommodation
group with access to a 24x7x365
day remote service desk support, proactive remote server monitoring and regular onsite
maintenance.
Smith says that, in addition, Brennan will be engaged throughout the
contracted period for a range of IT infrastructure projects as part of
the company’s proposed infrastructure upgrade plans.
“With the tourism industry taking a hit, the accommodation and
hospitality industry is under pressure to drive greater value from all
business investments. Information technology in particular, is an area
where we are keen to demonstrate efficiency and cost savings.
“Brennan has a strong heritage in the hospitality sector and was able
to customise a solution that demonstrated a clear understanding of the
issues the group was facing.”
Stephen Sims, general manager sales & marketing at Brennan, says
the challenge was to “reduce cost of support whilst at the same time
increase the service levels. By introducing proactive server monitoring
we are able to quickly identify and fix many of Accor’s IT issues, in
many cases, before Accor notices a problem.”
Sims says this reduces the amount of time required for an engineer on site and therefore reduces the total cost of service.
According to Accor’s Paul Smith, both companies are keen to build upon
their established relationship to “create a seamless partnership that
fosters greater efficiency and collaboration between both IT teams.
“To us, value is not just a measure of adherence to SLA’s and cost
savings, it’s also the additional IP and strategic advice our team
gains when we work in partnership with our suppliers such as Brennan.”
