Telstra is planning its largest ever survey of small businesses to help it refine its strategy for this market.
Telstra's managing director, marketing services, Megan Keleher, said: "It's the first time Telstra has gone to so many small businesses and sought their views on what they need or want from Telstra."
Participation will be by invitation, with the 16,000 small businesses being selected from Telstra's customer databases and external sources. Interviews will be conducted in stages, with the process expected to be finished over the next six months.
Participants will have the opportunity to win one of five $20,000 Telstra Technology Development funds, to spend on their businesses IT needs over the next year.
The project complements current surveys of approximately 14,000 individual consumers on their telecommunications needs.
