ASX-listed online DVD rental company Quickflix (ASX:QFX) and Yahoo! Australia & NZ, have signed a deal to integrate Quickflix's DVD rental service into Yahoo! Movies.
Yahoo! ANZ claims to attract more than 4.7 million unique visitors every month and recently unveiled its new movie site which features movie and DVD news, reviews, trailers ratings, celebrity pics and star trivia. Quickflix will enable Yahoo! ANZ users to add searched upon titles to their "playlist" and then deliver them directly to their home for viewing.
Stephen Langsford, CEO of Quickflix said "Yahoo! Australia & NZ is a major brand when comes to the online community and we like what they are doing with the new Yahoo! Movie channel. Integrating with Yahoo! Movies gives us a big step up in reaching our target demographic."
Cliff Rosenberg, managing director, Yahoo! Australia & NZ said, "The deal with Quickflix provides our Yahoo! Movies users with deeper more dynamic content including information on latest DVD releases and special reviews and features. We know that our users are big consumers of movie information online and now they have the added functionality of being able to click-through and rent over 14,000 DVDs online."
The integration of Quickflix in Yahoo! will launch in January, 2006.
