Mark Williams, IT Manager at the Society, says the upgrade of the Society’s WAN infrastructure is to improve support to its members in their service of people in need.
“Faced with a growing community need, the Society is keen to use technology to drive communications improvement between the large network of sites we manage across Australia.
“The society’s requirements extend from basic connectivity for smaller sites to supporting large, multiple user office environments that require high availability, high performance services to support their technology strategy going forward.”
Via IP’s business development manager, Heath Donald said the network solution offered by the company provides the Society with a flexible communications platform which will further benefit their work in the community and reduce ongoing operational costs associated with running a large multi site network.
Via IP will be integrating the Society’s existing data centre into their privately owned MPLS network, enabling diverse routing using a combination of fibre, microwave, copper and DSL.
Donald said Via IP was “delighted to partner with the St Vincent de Paul Society in order to establish a scalable infrastructure which will enable all of the Society’s offices around Australia to benefit from a fast efficient connection. Our flexible, innovative and reliable approach is key for us in delivering the first class IP services the Society requires.”
