ArcSight, a global provider of compliance and security management solutions, is establishing an operation in Australia with the aim of expanding its market presence in the Asia Pacific region through the appointment of a chief salesman for Australia and New Zealand.

A 13-year veteran of the IT industry, Joel Camissar, has been appointed as ArcSight’s senior regional sales manager for Australia and New Zealand, responsible for developing the company’s business as well as consulting to enterprise organisations in information and event management software.

Camissar joins ArcSight from Websense where he was country manager Australia and New Zealand, having previously worked for Trend Micro as enterprise sales manager and northern region account manager.

ArcSight also announced the appointment of Gabriel Gennai as senior sales engineer.  Gennai has 20 years experience in IT and communications and was formerly senior technology consultant with RSA Australia, and previously worked for more than 10 years at Attachmate Australia in a variety of engineering roles and with National Mutual (AXA) as a systems programs and communications specialist.

Albert Kuo, vice president and general manager of ArcSight, Asia Pacific said today the near-term focus of the company in both the Australian and New Zealand markets was the establishment of a customer base, support infrastructure, engagement of key channel partners and the recruitment of key sales and technical personnel.

“We believe that the ArcSight family of compliance and security solutions deliver a compelling value proposition even in difficult economic conditions

“A local office and senior industry experience on the ground will enable us to build and enhance our relationships with ArcSight customers while we focus on broadening our sales channels and business relationships with partners in Australia and New Zealand."

Kuo said ArcSight provided a vendor-neutral solution for intelligent identification, prioritisation and network response to external security attacks, insider threats and compliance breaches.
