IT Industry - Deals

Kaspersky Labs is going into the football sponsorship business, announcing that it has signed a three year, multi-million dollar sponsorship deal with the AFL’s Melbourne Football Club, as part of its plans to raise the company’s profile in the Australian market.

The agreement between security firm Kaspersky and the Demons includes signage, coach’s sponsorship, website advertising, corporate hospitality and other match day benefits but there’s no mention of the sponsorship dollars Kaspersky will give to Melbourne.

The cash strapped football club announced its first major sponsorship deal for the 2009 AFL season, with tyre company Hankook, just a week ago and the deal with Kaspersky will be a welcome addition to the clubs coffers as it works to eliminate a huge debt burden.

The Kaspersky logo will be on the back of the players’ jumpers and the Hankook logo on the front of the jumper.
