IT services provider, ASG Group (ASX:ASZ), and bid partner Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), have won a tender to provide hardware and support services for the WA Government's new Shared Corporate Services system.
ASG chief executive officer Geoff Lewis said the company was delighted that the consortium was selected as preferred tenderer and would now concentrate on working towards finalising a contract with the government.
'ASG, in conjunction with Oracle, has already secured the contract to supply and implement the IT systems for the WA Government's new Shared Service Centres,' said Lewis. 'We see this final phase of the program as an opportunity to build on our previous investment to continue to deliver high quality, cost efficient services to Western Australian taxpayers.'
CSC's Western Australian general manager, Murray Rosa, said CSC was excited that the ASG-led consortium, which combined a dominant local footprint with international experience, had been appointed preferred tenderer.
'CSC will now share the benefits of its global experience with ASG to realise the savings and benefits of this shared services initiative."
As preferred tenderer the consortium will now enter into detailed contract negotiations and due diligence activities with the Shared Corporate Services Program office.
Upon finalisation of negotiations, the consortium will be expecting to enter into a contract with the WA Government.
Think again. Most businesses only have PART of a DR plan - and this spells business disaster in the event of an IT disaster.
