Smartcard access systems provider BQT Solutions (ASX:BQT) and technology services provider to the education market, Monitor Business Solutions, have partnered to deliver a smartcard access system to schools and universities.
The system, called SmaX, would enable students to use smartcards to access a range of services, as well as gain entry to secure buildings.
John Genner, managing director of BQT Solutions Limited said: “SmaX has been developed by BQT and is an intelligent access control management system for building security. Unlike other access systems in the market it does not require door controllers. The SmaX access control management system is based around BQT’s Mifare Technology and is the ideal solution not only for schools and universities but also any organisation requiring quality access security.
"Our partner Monitor has been involved in the school and university service area for a number of years. They have been delivering services to schools and universities across Australia with range of solutions that include Internet Monitoring, Content Management, Network Security and now a complete Access Control solution by using BQT’s SmaX system.
"BQT and Monitor (VIC) have just provided the SmaX solution to Geelong Grammar in Victoria. BQT and Monitor are currently working together to implement solutions for other schools and universities across Australia.
"The BQT SmaX Access system will enable the schools to supply its students with the BQT Mifare Smart Card. The cardholder will have the use of the “one” card for physical access, logical/computer access, photocopying and canteen and other applications."
