Fone Zone's Next Byte: swallows Frequency Communications

Next Byte, the Apple dealer chain recently acquired  by mobile phone retail group, Fone Zone (ASX: FZN), has acquired Sydney-based Apple specialist, Frequency Communications.

Frequency Communications sells Apple products and provides service and technical support as an authorised Apple repairer. It also operates a rental division for the film and television industries. Revenue last year was $7.9 million and EBIT $319,000.

Fane Zone CEO, David McMahon, said that Frequency's owner and management would continue to operate the business under the Next Byte banner. "The Frequency business augments Next Byte's portfolio of business and service offerings."

Fone Zone also announced that Next Byte had won the Apple Reseller of the Year award for its sales efforts across the full Apple range of products and services and for its customer service and standards of management and training. It is the fourth time in five years that Next Byte has won the award.
