The $A100 million whole of government contract is expected to save the state $A20 million.

"The Government's decision is significant and innovative as it is the first time a services company such as Data#3 has been selected in this sort of panel arrangement," said John Grant, managing director of Data#3. "Our customer solution lifecycle approach in integral to our offer and ensures the products purchased are right for the task, that the total cost to agencies is the lowest, that the process is the most effective, and that allows the  innovative options we have proposed for ongoing management and operation of agency infrastructure are leveraged to the fullest."

The company has offered to supply HP and Toshiba products and associated services. "We will work with the agencies to select the right type of equipment for their specific needs and get it delivered and configured to work in their business at the lowest cost to taxpayers and to the environment," said Grant.

iTWire requested a list of the successful panellists, but at the time of publication no response had been received from the department managing the tender process.
