Australia's largest home grown enterprise software provider TechnologyOne has unveiled its cloud strategy with a suite of new online enterprise products called TechnologyOne Cloud. The strategy includes a future roadmap which according to the company's boss Adrian Di Marco, will transform how enterprises select, try, buy, implement and use software.

TechnologyOne clients will soon be able to move all their legacy enterprise software from the company into the cloud within the space of a few days, according to TechOne founder and executive chairman Adrian Di Marco. What's more, the TechOne boss expects all the company's customers will have moved entirely into the cloud within 10 years.

New Zealand-based beverage manufacturer Frucor (the company behind brands such as V and Just Juice) successfully moved its SAP environment into the cloud, but learned a few things in the process.

The Jesuits famously claimed that if they were able to school a child early, they were guaranteed of his future character and loyalty. Cloud vendors it seems, including Microsoft and local storage cloud Ninefold, are harnessing the approach.

A whole new cloud based ecosystem is emerging to support businesses looking to extract business insights from social networks and external data sources – but it will take another three to five years to fully mature. In the meantime enterprises need to take a close look at their approach to information management, as in the future it will be a significant competitive differentiator.
