Dell's latest PowerEdge servers were designed with large memory support and improved I/O throughput to take advantage of Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V.
They also feature embedded server management that integrates with System Center 2012. Company officials claim PowerEdge updates can be performed up to 11 times faster and in 81% fewer steps than HP servers in a comparable multi-vendor OS and hypervisor environment.
They also noted that the experience gained by Dell in building cloud systems with companies including Microsoft and eBay is available to other customers.
