A pioneer of UK Internet journalism, Davey has spent the best part of
20 years analysing and evangelising the online world for print and
broadcast media. He was the first UK journalist to have a column about
the Internet in a national newspaper, helped launch .NET magazine (the
first magazine about the Internet in the UK), wrote some of the first
books about the Internet in the UK and both scripted and presented the
first TV series about the Internet for Brits.
As well as being Contributing Editor of the best selling UK monthly IT magazine, PC Pro, Davey is the author of more than 20 books covering everything from sex to travel with a technological slant. His latest, Being Virtual, was a joint venture with the Science Museum in London and is best described as part-autobiography and part exploration of who we really are when we live our lives online.
A founder member of the Internet Society of England, member of the National Union of Journalists and Society of Authors, Davey is also an award winning writer. Over the years he has been honoured with such accolades as 'Technology Journalist of the Year' and has been 'IT Security Journalist of the Year' for two out of the three years it has been awarded.
