HP adds $100,000 to Good Friday Appeal coffers

HP has contributed $100,000 to the Good Friday Appeal for Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital, and in the process gained some useful publicity for its ePrint service.

HP said it would donate up to $100,000 to the Good Friday Appeal for Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital if enough people sent a messages of support or pictures of their fundraising activities via the company's ePrint service to printers in the TV appeal studio at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium. And that's exactly what it did.

"We were overwhelmed with the amount of photos printed on the ePrintforthekids wall on Good Friday," said Christine Unsworth, executive director of the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal. "This was an interactive way for people of all ages to use technology to send their well-wishes to the children. Watching the wall grow throughout the day truly showcased the generosity of Victorians."

Richard Bailey, vice president of the imaging and printing group at HP South Pacific said "We are immensely proud to make this donation for such a worthy cause and hope to continue to share our innovative technology in support of the Good Friday Appeal in the future."

Late last year, HP ran a similar exercise to benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Randwick (Sydney).
