Sadly my piece never made it to the front page of Google News, so once it was pushed off the front page of IT Wire the only hits it got came from search engines. They're still coming. IT Wire's backend lets me see what these people searched for and the results are kinda creepy.

Some were your standard, run-of-the-mill searches trawling for titillating news stories, such as people searching Google News for "sex story", "sex study" or "horny". Then it starts to get a bit weird. There was "sex animals" and the far more precise "watch men have sex with animals" - clearly someone who knows what they want. It was when I found the entry for "fish porn" that I knew things had taken a scary new direction.

There were also several hits that came directly from news.google.com, but I'm pretty sure my post wasn't that newsworthy so my assumption is they were personalised pages. So there are people out there who have customised their Google News page to automatically tell them when stories about sex with animals come along. Isn't the internet a wonderful thing.

Assuming these people run the same search regularly, they're all reading this story as well. A special hello goes out to the weirdo who searches Google News for;

"sex OR topless OR bikini OR nude OR naked -murder -rape"
