BenQ has renewed its sponsorship of the UEFA European Football Championship  following the success of its brand-building efforts at EURO 2004.

The company credits that involvement with increasing sales, improved brand awareness, and stronger relationships with business partners. Presumably corporate hospitality is as big in Europe as it is in Australia.

"The sponsorship supports BenQ’s commitment to Europe and ongoing efforts to make BenQ a household name in the region,” said Mr. K.Y. Lee, Chairman of BenQ. "The UEFA European Football Championship is one of the most prestigious and recognisable sporting brands in the world."

In terms of total audience reach, the UEFA championship sits in third place behind the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games. UEFA 2004 attracted 7.9 billion viewers worldwide.

"I am delighted to welcome BenQ back to our family of sponsors as a follow-up to its sponsorship in 2004 and I look forward to our successful partnership," said UEFA president and former French soccer great Michel Platini.{moscomment}
