SpectrumData provides specialist data asset management and data storage solutions including media and data conversion, data migration and data transcription supporting resources data needs in Australia and around the world while ISA Technologies is a specialist information technology company which has the largest high performance computing (HPC) facility in Western Australia and supports 3D visualization and specialist information technology services. Together, these Perth based companies are active in assisting the oil and gas industries with SpectrumData focused on data management, conversion and storage while ISA Technologies focus on oil and gas data processing and visualisation. Both companies intend to provide a ‘one stop shop’ for the massive data requirements of oil and gas and resource based industries. “The boom of the resource industries in Western Australia provides the State with a great opportunity to lead the world in technologies related to capturing and interrogating the enormous data requirements of these industries”, said Mr Sil La Puma, Managing Director of ISA Technologies. “The agreement between SpectrumData and ISA Technologies can effectively position Perth as a major resource processing hub for the region”, Mr La Puma said. Mr Guy Holmes, Chief Executive Officer of SpectrumData shares Mr La Pumas vision for developing Perth as a worldwide centre for the data technology requirements of the resource industries. “SpectrumData is already safeguarding the data requirements of oil and gas and resource companies in Australia and around the world and combined with the processing power of the ISA Technologies High Performance Computer facilities, we can provide the best data technology service available internationally”, said Mr Holmes. ISA Technologies and SpectrumData are also working together to establish a broadband communications link to share data and support both data storage and processing activities for the petroleum, geoscience and resources industries. “We are currently planning for a 1 Gb link to be upgraded to a 10 Gb link to support the ISA Technologies and SpectrumData partnership and we are hopeful that the Western Australian Government will be able to support these plans as part of their encouragement of Information Technology Clusters through financial assistance towards broadband links at Technology Park in Bentley”, Mr La Puma said. The Western Australian Government Department of Industry and Resources is working on an assistance package for broadband between Technology Park Bentley tenants. “SpectrumData and ISA Technologies partnership provides the basis for developing a technology capability in Western Australia that will support continued growth of the oil and gas and mining industries into the future”, Mr Holmes said.
