Now telco company 3 mobile along with online dating website RSVP bring us the results of their “love bytes” survey. Generally technology is seen as a good thing for keeping communication happening in a prospective relationship with 95% being positive in this area. These figures will be somewhat skewed by the respondent audience, being 3 customers. It would seem women are more likely to send text messages after a few drinks and it is women more so than men that admit to breaking up with a partner via text message. “Planet 3 is helping to bring Venus and Mars together once and for all,” said Annie Mackin, Head of Content, 3 mobile. “Online and mobile communities are a growing trend across the world, and with content partners such as RSVP, we’re able to offer Australians more and more choices about how they connect with one another.” Overview of survey results: . 62% of men / 61% of women rely primarily on email and text to contact prospective dates . 38% of men / 35% of women rely primarily on their mobiles (calls and texts) to contact prospective dates . 24% of men / 36% of women have used text, email or IM to break up with a partner . 12% of men / 18% of women have broken up with a partner via text message . 58% of men / 46% of women prefer to break up with partners face-to-face . 46% of men / 55% of women admit to being intexticated (texting under the influence of alcohol) . 94% of men / 96% of women think technology is a good thing to keep in touch with prospective dates {moscomment}
