Ontrack Data Recovery expands Australian network E-mail
Monday, 12 February 2007
Sydney – 12 February 2007 – Ontrack Data Recovery, the world leader in data recovery, today announced plans to enable customers to access its Brisbane-based advanced cleanroom data recovery laboratory faster and more securely.  As of February 07, Ontrack Data Recovery will have drop-off points in all eight capital cities around the country, providing more drop-off points than any other data recovery provider in Australia.

Ontrack Data Recovery will use the CBD offices of sister company Marsh, a risk and insurance services firm, as secure drop-off points for Ontrack customers.  Both Ontrack Data Recovery and Marsh are part of Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC).

“Given the sudden nature of most hardware failures that result in data loss, combined with many people’s lack of preparedness, speed often is a key requirement in recovering data,” said Adrian Briscoe, General Manager, Ontrack Data Recovery.

“This is especially true when data loss affects businesses that, depending on their size and level of IT sophistication, do not have a current back-up system or do not have a back-up process of any sort in place.  With drop-off points in all Australian states and territories, customers now can access our in-lab recovery services faster and more conveniently, which in turn means their data will be recovered and returned to them in a shorter time frame.”

In order to ensure customer expectations are matched to service delivery, Ontrack first evaluates the failed drive for a minimal investment (Standard Service - $99) and then provides the customer with a list of file names that can be recovered.  The customer can then make an informed decision to proceed based on an assessment of full recovery costs versus actual files recovered. In addition, depending on the urgency of the data recovery job, Ontrack offers customers a number of service levels to accommodate every data loss situation.

Marsh offices are located in the CBDs of Adelaide, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.  For Brisbane customers, Ontrack Data Recovery will continue to offer service through its office in West End.  For customers located outside of CBD areas, please call Ontrack at 1-800-872-259 for pick-up and courier options.
