Now comes a service for all the newcomers and veterans alike, that surf the WWW via the Opera powered Internet channel on the Wii. Simply titled "C3 Wii" it provides all the regular cubed3 Nintendo information and forum service optimised for living room viewing.
Even on my 42" HD Plasma, viewing regular websites via the Wii is a matter of aiming, scrolling and zooming. On unfamiliar sites, it can become a little bothersome to hone your technique. C3 Wii promises a mini-site with large text, quick loading pages with straightforward style sheets. The entire core 'desktop website' subject matter is available.
"Opera for Wii brought Nintendo gamers to the online world from the comfort of their living room; C3 Wii aims to bring Nintendo updates to the platform in simple, all-access way. The site tries to break down the difficulties posed by reading content designed for a computer screen on a TV screen," said founder and developer Jorge Ba-oh. "With C3 Wii, there's no need to zoom or wait for unnecessary banners and images. With a single click, readers gain access to our core features from their sofa." |
