The Telstra Foundation is to provide $1.8 million over three years in new grants to fund projects designed to build social connections and support networks for socially and geographically isolated children.

The new Social Innovation Grants will fund up to seven projects across the country. The grants are part of the Telstra Foundation's Community Development Fund. Applications for funding are encouraged from "community-based organisations with dynamic ideas".

We are looking for projects that will make a lasting and positive difference to the lives of children and young people," Telstra Foundation chairman Herb Elliott said."

Projects designed to develop and transfer new skills, as well as creatively use information and communication technologies to build social connections will be given priority." Further information is available at www.telstrafoundation.com.{moscomment}
