North American update 1.50 for the Sony PlayStation 3 seemingly fixes complaints with PS2 game quality.

One of the gripes with the release of the PS3 was the way, supposedly, supported PS2 games looked when inserted into the super console.  Jagged graphics and worse, a now famous youtube video gave dramatic footage of direct comparisons between the systems.

A recently release update seems to have quietly fixed the issue. Ars Technica reports on the experience, with the 1.50 update improving graphics for at least the PS2 titles Final Fantasy X-2 and Resident Evil 4.

There is no actual mention of this fix on the Sony update site.  Updates included in the 1.50 download are officially;
