Alfresco serves as a repository of digital assets while OmniPub provides the business logic and user interface. OmniPub allows the user to select digital assets out of the repository and arrange them as desired. It then assembles a single asset from the multiples available creating front material, such as cover or title pages, as well as table of contents and stamps folios or page numbers throughout the assembly. It also has the ability to optionally create content specific back material such as term indexes and references. This type of application requires powerful, feature-rich search facilities, in a highly scalable and stable environment at a dramatically lower cost than proprietary alternatives.
