IT outsourcer and services provider Computer Sciences Corporation has signed an IT services contract with BlueScope Steel Ltd, an international flat steel solutions company. The contract, which includes a four-year base period and two two-year options, has a potential value of AUD$480 million if all options are exercised.

Under the agreement, CSC will be responsible for managing and delivering a diverse set of IT services ranging from consulting, applications development and support, disaster recovery, systems integration and end user services on a variety of technology platforms. CSC has provided similar services to BlueScope since May 2000 and is the company’s largest provider of IT services across Asia, NZ and North America.

Andrew Baker, CIO BlueScope Steel Ltd said, “We have been very pleased with the support, cost saving initiatives and service delivery improvements provided by CSC. This new contract recognises the benefit of working with CSC and we look forward to continuing our relationship.”

Mike Shove, managing director, CSC Australia Pty Ltd said, “We are delighted that BlueScope Steel has decided to extend its relationship with CSC. Having worked with BlueScope and achieved significant results over the last seven years, we will continue to deliver on price transparency, strict benchmarking, competitive services and a robust governance model to ensure the success of the ongoing relationship.”
