In a thread within the MoAB Fixes Google Group, Rosyna Keller claimed the rapid fix occurred "because lhm/kf were actively using it on IRC to disconnect users." Someone (apparently LMH, though the message is unsigned) responded within the hour, writing "Unless you can prove that... we request you to keep away of any future claims like these", going on to describe Keller as "a malicious retard". That message did not deny involvement, but LMH wrote in his blog that the attack "has no relation with us at all (except the fact of developing the proof of concept and distributing it to some people)." LMH took credit for creating the exploit, so if he was using the 'editorial we' that statement would still be truthful if "some people" included MoAB's Kevin Finisterre. Alternatively, it could be taken as a denial that either LMH or Finisterre were involved in the attack. Jens Ayton, another members of the MoAB Fixes says he witnessed the attack and that it appeared to have been carried out by someone using the name "kfinisterre". Whether this was MoAB's Kevin Finisterre or someone trying to muddy the waters is moot. In day 17's disclosure, LMH and Finisterre wrote "if you are looking for lies and absolutely flawed assumptions (both technical and 'ethical' wise), you are encouraged to read the MoAB Fixes Group, allegedly intended to be a helpful resource to fixes and workarounds for the issues published in the MoAB, which has turned now into mere flame-war, biased, accusation-driven channel." Our reading of the discussion was that a majority of posters seemed concerned that messages were straying from the technical issues, and we note that MoAB Fixes project initiator Landon Fuller closed the thread for this reason less than 24 hours after it began.{moscomment}
