With a little effort – obtaining the individual movie keys from the disk – a “backup” copy of the movie file was possible. Now comes news of the first release of a full resolution rip of the movie Serenity in HD-DVD format on BitTorrent. As of now P2P file sharing networks will be running red hot as geeks all around the world download the 19.6GB Mpeg-4 VC-1 file. Nice choice of film by the way, just the right level of geekiness to encourage a flood of byte exchange through the internet pipes. Government hounded BitTorrent tracker company Pirate Bay will be interested in keeping their good eye (not the one under the patch) on Serenity as it progresses around the interweb. They may well do this from the relatively legality free haven of their own country. Currently Swedish, Pirate Bay is reportedly looking to buy their own Country of Sealand, off the south coast of Britain. Sealand, built on a man-made British naval platform is currently for sale as a Country in its own right for £65,000,000 – just make the cheque out to King Roy. {moscomment}
