S Central said its purchase of AGM IT will enable the combined group to accelerate its plans to become a national provider of a broad mix of IT solutions in the area of applications, data and communications infrastructure. The company said it expects the acquisition will increase its ability to win large corporate and public sector contracts. "Both S Central and AGM IT share the same vision to grow the combined business into a national IT services company that can provide the scale necessary to deliver large projects for major national customers," said Peter Mavridis, managing director of S Central. "We already have an excellent line-up of banking, industrial and public sector clients on our books and we expect to win even larger mandates in the future." Mavridis said the combined entity would have strong capabilities in the areas of virtualisation and storage and would enable it to ramp up its IT on Demand services, including its hosted infrastructure offering. He said he expects the Managed Services part of the business to experience major growth in the next two years.
