The excellent The Godfather game will complete the next-gen journey this March, with cool game play enhancements.

gf_34_thumbElectronic arts brought us the world of Mario Puzo’s critically acclaimed novel with imagery taken straight from the Paramount film.

Having enjoyed the open world game on the Xbox 360 myself, and with versions available for the PS2, PC, Xbox and PSP, it is cool to see Electronic Arts complete the picture, announcing versions for the Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii to be released in March.

The Godfather The Don’s Edition for PS3 will include the Corleone Expansion pack, further expanding the game world with Shipyard and Rail yard transportation hubs along with expanded missions to make your path to Don even more satisfying.

The EA press release mentions taking full advantage of the PS3’s SIX AXIS controller, but goes on immediately to talk about the Nintendo Wii version of the game.  The Godfather Blackhand Edition will use the Wii-mote and Nunchuck controller to truly deliver a punch to the franchise.

The fisticuffs within the game was definitely a highlight when played on the Xbox 360.  I for one, cannot wait to try these new editions to see how the brawling translates to the unique controller mechanisms of the Wii and PS3. {moscomment}
