Microsoft has recovered from its false start and provided new updates for Office for Mac 2004 and v.X that can be applied whether or not last week's prematurely released updaters have been used.

As expected, the new versions - 11.3.2 for 2004 and 2006-12-19 for v.X - apparently contain only functional improvements, not fixes for outstanding security-related issues.

Both updaters fix an issue that caused PowerPoint to sometimes quit unexpectedly when a presentation was opened.

Entourage 2004 bugs squashed by the 11.3.2 update involve the incorrect display of contact names containing special characters in meeting requests, the duplicate display of messages in public folders, and a compatibility issue with Mirapoint Message Server.

Prerequisites are Office for Mac 2004 11.3.0 or v.X 10.1.8.
