In an admission that the power of spreading information has shifted from big media to the people, Time magazine has named bloggers and other web content creators, collectively referred to as "You", as its "Person of the Year" for 2006.Featured Whitepaper

Time refers to the ability of people to post information to YouTube, MySpace and Wikipedia and in the process wresting power from the few and helping one another for nothing. The article also refers to the ability of individuals in locations as diverse as Baghdad to nightclubs to capture incidents such as roadside bombings and comedians having racist rants and posting them to the net.
