Google releases Google-flavoured version of Internet Explorer 7

Google has rolled its own version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7, making Google the default search engine and incorporating Google's Toolbar and Homepage services.

The "Optimised for Google" version of IE7 was customised using Microsoft's developer toolkit, intended to help businesses configure and deploy IE7 internally. Yahoo!, USA Today and web.de have also released customised versions of Microsoft's new browser.

Microsoft's Internet Explorer Group Program Manager, Tony Chor, welcome the Google-flavoured edition of IE7 on the official Internet Explorer blog - even posting the URL to download it from.

"I'm happy to note that Google and Web.de have recently released customized versions of IE7. These versions have been tailored by the two companies to provide the best experience with IE7 for their users," Chor wrote.

"Like Yahoo!, USAToday.com, and others, they used the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) to create these versions; this toolkit is available to all developers who want to create their own versions of IE as well as for corporations to help with configuration and deployment."

Google also has release a beta of Google Toolbar 3.0 for Firefox, adding integration with Google Docs & Spreadsheets.{moscomment}
