CSC Australia Pty Limited has been awarded a $15 million contract for the upgrade of the Federal Government's Defence financial information management system.

Defence is updating its current financial information management system, ROMAN, to a contemporary version of the core application supplied by SAP.

The upgrade aims to improve and modernise the system’s accounting and reporting capabilities.

The upgraded system will also support international financial reporting standards and assist in any audit of the 5 million transactions undertaken each year.

The upgrade is expected to be completed over the next 12 to 18 months.
