The vast majority (80 percent) of users surveyed play at least once a week and 34 percent play every day. The average length of a session is 28 minutes with India (39 minutes), United States (31 minutes) and Thailand (29 minutes) playing longer than average. Mobile phone games are played on the move (61 percent) almost as much as they are played at home (62 percent). Also, mobile phone gamers are making the most of their idle time with 56 percent preferring to play while waiting. Worldwide gaming trends show that connecting people, either as team mates or as opponents, is becoming an increasingly important part of what consumers want from their mobile gaming experience, Nokia says. Globally, 45 percent play multiplayer games on their mobile phones at least once a month. India tops with over half (56 percent) playing at least once a week and one in four playing every day. Nokia has been bragging for months that it is the world's largest manufacturer of digital cameras. As iTWire reported recently, that was just the entrée. Next Nokia plans to eat Apple's lunch by stealing dominance of the MP3 player market from the iPod, and for dessert chew up video camera sales.{moscomment} |
