Samsung predicts explosive growth for large LCD screens |

As Korean and Japanese electronics giants, Samsung and Sony, celebrated the laying of the final beam at their latest S-LCD joint venture production facility, Lee Sang-wan, president of Samsung's LCD business was bullish about the sales prospects of large monitors in 2007.
S-LCD, which was established in 2004, laid the
final beam for its 8th-generation (8G) LCD productiohn line at the
facility in Tangjeong, South Korea late last week. The new line can
produce 46-inch and 52-inch panels.
Mr Lee said in a Reuters report that there will be strong global demand
for LCD monitors in the second half of 2007. He also said that the
market for panels larger than 40 inches would grow by more than 112% in
