The (PRODUCT) RED project was launched on an episode of Oprah with the new red iPod nano appearing on the Apple US and (PRODUCT) RED websites. Besides the 4GB and 8GB iPod nano models, the www.joinred.com website lists a range of other consumer products. Prominent on the home page are white Converse sneakers with a red interior, a collection of Georgia Armani products including clothing, accessories and a watch with red display, a range of red clothing from GAP, a red American Express card and a red Motorola RAZR, with more red products coming in the following months. Apple has sold an estimated 70 million iPod units, which dominates the music player market and has achieved iconic status. The iPod has been credited with Apple's resurgence as a company and now contributes about 40% of the company's revenues. {moscomment} |
