"We know there's no simple single solution to fight spam, and the OECD's work on the anti-spam toolkit stressed the importance of a holistic approach to combating spam", said Claudia Sarrocco of the OECD. "International organisations could and should work together more effectively against spammers, and this initiative will help them do that." The six organisations are APEC, the European Union's Contact Network of Spam Authorities (CNSA), The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the London Action Plan, the OECD and the Seoul-Melbourne Anti-Spam group, co-founded by the Australian Communications and Media Authority. The ACMA currently chairs and provides secretarial support for the Seoul-Melbourne Anti-Spam group. Its objectives are to encourage closer co-operation among the signatories (a dozen Asian Government IT bodies) in minimising spam originating or passing through each country/region and being sent to end users in each country/region. {moscomment} |
