Firstly for Battlefield newbies, you will find a competent single player component to get you used to the basics of kit selection, spawn point designation and vehicle control.  As a raw recruit however, you won't get a taste of all that is on offer from this title until the real meat and potatoes is dished up online.

Once there, it is easy to become shell-shocked with sensory overload, with aural receptors taking a particular beating.  Using the Battlefield 2 engine pumping out its visuals, the snow-covered vistas of central Europe get the eye-candy nod over the Desert themed maps. 
If you have gained situational awareness quickly, selected one of the four classes of combatant (down from the seven in BF2, but expanded in flexibility for this release) and waded out into the fray expecting furious action, you will not be disappointed.

Veterans of the multiplayer format will be happy to see the return of the server favourite Conquest and Co-Op Conquest, requiring you to take and hold strategic points on the battlefield to reduce the enemies 'ticket' allocation.

In the all-new 'Titan' mode, teams are tasked to grab control of missile silos scattered around the large maps.  Each missile fires at the enemy Titan command ship, that hovers above the game map at regular intervals.  Once these missiles take out the enemy Titans shields, it is time to launch an assault on the enemy floating dreadnaught itself, battling defenders through the corridors until the core is destroyed.
