"VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure delivers value to our customers through improved security and manageability. Since the announcement of the VDI Alliance in April, we have been collaborating with several partners to deliver virtual desktop offerings to the enterprise," said Jerry Chen, director of enterprise desktop platforms and solutions, VMware. "We are excited to work with Wyse within the VDI Alliance and our Community Source programs to deliver their first VDI optimised product offering which will enable our customers to quickly adopt and deploy VDI within their environments." Wyse is also a participant in the VMware Community Source program, a collaborative development effort that provides open technology access to the source code and APIs for VMware ESX Server. "Wyse is very excited that our work with VMware has already resulted in a VDI-enabled thin desktop operating system -- a tremendous new offering for our enterprise customers," said Ricardo Antuna, vice president of business line management, Wyse Technology. "In the future, by working through VMware’s Community Source program, we will incorporate into the VDI architecture innovative features, such as multi-media, USB peripheral support and new thin client devices." |
