The present web technology would soon be dead with the click-and-page method of accessing information getting antiquated day by day, says Forrester Research Chairman & CEO, George Colony.

One of the most influential thought leaders in the world of technology and a trusted advisor to global CEOs, Colony offers forward-looking analysis on the impact of technology change on business.

While talking about the emerging trends on technology during his visit to Bangalore, Colony said a fourth wave is soon going to take over and create an all-new software paradigm. (The earlier three waves focused on mainframes, PCs and networking - each spanning an 8-10 year time-frame)

An extended Internet or an “executable Internet” is what is going to drive businesses soon, according top Colony. Clicking for something and waiting for it to download is passé.

“What we need today and what is going to happen soon is that programs will come through the server.

“There will be a highly developed IQ component at the PC level – a high value conversation between the PC and the servers.
