Powercor-CitiPower grants $17.8m contract extension to CSC

! IT services provider Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) has extended its information technology (IT) services contract with Powercor-CitiPower, a subsidiary of the Cheung Kong group of companies. The new five-year contract has a total value of $17.8 million. Powercor-CitiPower is Victoria’s largest electricity distributor providing services to 930,000 customers in the Melbourne CBD, inner suburbs, and in Central and Western Victoria. Under the new contract, CSC will provide Powercor-CitiPower a range of IT-related services, including desktop, helpdesk, midrange, network, security and disaster recovery. "Re-signing the contract has been an easy decision for both the management and the Board at Powercor-CitiPower given the long, successful relationship with CSC over the last seven years,” said Glen McLean, General Manager IT Services, Powercor-CitiPower. “We look forward to CSC playing an important and strategic role in the future programs affecting the businesses, particularly the Victorian interval meter rollout program."
