UK company, Remote XT , has launched what it claims is the UK's first mobile data management solution that completely locks and erases all user information from a mobile phone as soon as it is reported stolen. And makes it scream loudly.
The service is offered in conjunction with a remote backup for all user data, and costs £9.99 per month. The company suggest it is available on any phone that supports GPRS, but no specific compatibility information is given on the company' web site (www.remotext.com)
It claims that the screaming is permanent: it can be stopped only by removing the battery but will resume as soon as the battery is replaced.{moscomment}
