Vista to bring it all to a head for Microsoft in November E-mail

As November and Vista's scheduled release to the business market approaches, I get the distinct feeling that for Microsoft everything is coming to a head.

November is going to be a big month for Microsoft. Planned or not, the Vista release coincides with the release of other totally unrelated and untested in the market Microsoft products, such as the Zune player and the Xbox 360 HD DVD drive.

Vista has been a long time coming and, assuming that feedback to the latest build of release candidate 1 is all OK, what will happen when the new operating system hits the market is still far from clear.

Since improved security has been a major foundation and key selling point of the Vista platform, Microsoft is expected to deliver rock solid security in spades. Yet somehow the public remains unconvinced.

A couple of months ago, Microsoft's August Patch Tuesday unveiled more than just a big bunch of critical security flaws affecting Windows XP and other current generation MIcrosoft software. August 10 also revealed two critical security bugs in the Windows Vista Beta being tested at the time.
