ZuHause Zone, at launch offered users 1,000 minutes of local and national calling for a flat fee of $US24 per month from their home-zone - defined as the user's local cell plus cells adjacent to their home, typically creating a service radius of around 2 kilometres.

Vodafone expects to launch the service in 2007 and the move is in line with its global ambition to be a full spectrum telecom service provider.

Vodafone NZ's general manager commercial development Tom Chignell, said “Right now, we are the leaders in mobile, but we only have a 20 percent share of the total telecommunications market. Vodafone will now be able to compete with fixed line operators, increasing competition and giving New Zealanders more choice and flexibility."{moscomment}
