ISPhone Australasia, a provider of wholesale VoIP services aimed at the business market, will use Equinix's Sydney Internet Business Exchange (IBX) data centre to provide a hub for its softswitches, gateways and network equipment.
The IBX is a carrier-neutral data centre that will enable ISPhone to simultaneously connect to several different network providers rather than rely on one carrier. Gavin McDougal, managing director of ISPhone Australasia, said the move would "boost ISPhone’s business grade VoIP service and enhance our network’s resilience for our SME customers.”
ISPhone Australasia sells wholesale VoIP services to ISPs, system integrators, and other IT consultants and resellers that serve the Australian SME market. It is affiliated with ISPhone Inc, one of the world’s first VoIP telephony networks founded in 1997 and which provides similar services in the US market.{moscomment}
