Sony buckles, slashes PS3 prices in Japan |

Page 2 of 2 Whatever the prices, consumers in both Japan and the US
will have difficulty laying their hands on a PS3 console in 2006 as
only 2 million are expected to roll off the production line by year's
end.
Production of PS3 has been hampered by
problems with a Blu-ray diode, the high definition video technology
that many blame for the delay in the release of PS3, while Xbox 360,
which did not wait for HD DVD, has built a considerable lead in the
next generation console market.{moscomment}
